First Friday Art Walk Nov 1, 2024

Russell Reich has been creating visual images for more than 30 years. As a local Woodland resident, Russ studied under well-known and respected teachers from Woodland High School ~ Bob Gordon and Chuck Warner.

Russ completed the requirements for his Associates of Arts degree from American River College in 1986 and went on to complete the Graphic Design Certificate from UC Davis Extension.

Russ currently works as a Network Administrator for UC Davis Extension and continues to contribute his talents within the Woodland Community.

For more than 20 years, he has painted the featured homes in the Stroll through History, which the committee gives as a gift to the homeowners.

Artistic Experience:

Russ is a seasoned photographer, art teacher, and gallery owner with more than 25 years of experience in the creative arts industry. He has built a reputation for his photographic skills, particularly as a wedding photographer and videographer, having established a thriving photography business in Sacramento and Woodland alongside longtime friend and colleague, Donna Van Dolah. However, his passion for art goes beyond the lens. He served as a former Vice President of the Woodland Art Center, a place that held deep personal and professional significance for him. In his role, he worked closely with his wife, Vicki Reich, to plan and deliver art classes aimed at inspiring and educating the young minds of Yolo County. Together, they managed to spark an appreciation and love for the arts in many of their students. In addition, Russ co-owns Art Effects Art Gallery, one of the earliest galleries in the local area to feature work from both local and Yolo County artists, as well as talent from the wider Sacramento area. With Vicki as his creative partner, they brought artists such as Tony Natsoulas and Robert Armstrong into the spotlight, strengthening their community’s recognition and celebration of local artistic talent. With a dedicated, lifelong commitment to cultivating art in its many forms, Russ continues to enrich his local community with the power and beauty of creative expression.
